The one to book when nobody wants to share a mattress

A practical, calm space for two or three people who want their own bed. It carries work stays, friends' weekends, small family trips and event nights without any of them feeling like a compromise.

The darkest and calmest of the six — navy walls, framed artwork, a dresser with a smart TV, a writing desk and a small seating area. A king bed and a single rather than one shared bed, and a private ensuite with a walk-in shower.

Housekeeping and fresh towels

Daily automatic servicing is not guaranteed so rates can remain practical. Fresh towels or a room tidy can be arranged on request during reception hours.

Who books it

A couple with a child, two friends travelling together, colleagues on the same job, and work crews sharing to keep the cost down. The king takes two and the single takes a third, so it covers more combinations than anything else at this rate.

Fitting it to the trip

This is the one contractors and site crews book most, because separate beds and free off-street parking are the two things that decide a work stay. It works just as well for friends up for a concert or a tasting weekend.

Worth saying plainly

The two beds are not matched — one king, one single — so if two adults share on equal terms, one of you takes the smaller bed. And the navy walls make it read darker in person than it does on a bright screen.

Questions from people travelling in twos and threes

Anything not answered here, call (02) 4991 4712 — reception can confirm bedding, access and availability in a minute.

Are the beds genuinely separate?

Yes — a king and a single, two genuinely separate beds, not a zip-and-link or a sofa arrangement. They are not the same size, which is the one thing worth knowing in advance: someone takes the king and someone takes the single.

Can three of you stay?

Yes. The king takes two and the single takes a third. Three is the limit in this room — if there are four or more of you, the Family Room is the one to look at.

Do you take work crews?

Yes. Tradespeople and site crews stay here regularly, particularly midweek. If you need several rooms on the same dates, call reception rather than booking separately online so we can keep the group together.

Is there parking for a ute or van?

Free off-street parking is available onsite and work vehicles are routine here. Ring ahead if you are towing or bringing something oversized so we can tell you what is realistic.

Would this suit a couple?

Yes. The main bed is a king, so a couple sleeps as well here as anywhere at the inn. The single simply stays empty — or takes a child, which is why families of three tend to book this one.

Is there anywhere to eat late?

Central Cessnock has pubs and takeaway within a walk, which matters after a late finish. There is also a shared guest kitchen with a stove and oven if you would rather cook than go back out.
